Center for Women’s Recovery
 Living with the disease of chemical dependency is a different experience for women than it is for men. The Center for Women’s Recovery recognizes this and has created program components to help women understand their addiction and prepare for the special challenges they will face in recovery.
The women’s unit on the Granite Falls campus offers women patients/clients a comfortable living area, including a lounge and laundry facilities, coffee room and group room. While keeping the focus on chemical dependency, other areas of the women's lives are explored to help identify issues that create barriers to the recovery process. Depression, poor self-esteem, past physical, sexual or psychological abuse, along with deficits in education or daily living skills, may be a part of the woman's history that must be addressed in order to move ahead.
A thorough assessment establishes the basis for the individualized care plan that will address the chemical dependency, psychological, medical, and general health and physical fitness of each individual. Combinations of psychological, physical and spiritual approaches to therapy throughout the treatment process are utilized to obtain the maximum therapeutic benefit.
Residential
Primary and Extended Care
Women can receive short term residential, long term residential and/or transitional living options based on their needs. Individualized aftercare planning allows specific client goals to be addressed based on their vocational, social, educational, emotional, and spiritual need. Aftercare planning is vital to the recovery process and may include referrals to a halfway house or other post primary treatment living facility, which promotes an abstinent lifestyle. When developing the aftercare plan, careful consideration is given to the elements of the treatment plan, which need regular updating.
